Current Brazilian politics is stranger than fiction. An interview on the second round of the Brazilian general elections ends up unveiling all the anger, prejudice and incommunicability in a tragicomic portrait of a fissured society.
A documentary crew in Brazil attempts to conduct a street interview with journalist Marilia Melhado. It’s election time, and everyone’s on tenterhooks about who’s going to win the second round. She is asking herself if this is still a democratic society in which people with differing opinions can coexist in harmony, when she is rudely interrupted by Bolsonaro supporters. The growing conflict ends up unveiling all the anger, prejudice and incommunicability in a portrait of a fissured society. Are we still listening to each other?
This short is an excerpt from the feature film “Greens & Yellows”, currently in development, conceived and directed by Caio Castor.
